For major home consoles, I would choose 1st/3rd person, and for the handhelds I'd go with the top-down view. I'm not too picky about the engine, but definitely an engine that allows the game to work on any console. This last session at college is going to take up a lot of my time, but maybe after that I might take you up on your offer. I'll e-mail you, man!

Sounds fun. Would this be a top-down, Diabloesque view or a first person/3rd person toggling view. What type of engine would you use for the graphics? I was thinking if you have a budget, OpenGL is perfect, plus it runs on most operating systems. If you want to do a final fantasy type game with sprites, I can literally build the entire thing with a little creative expertise from you. It would be using Ruby scripting and come with its own runtime engine packaged.

Aloha party people! I just wanted to thank everyone for all of your compliments, votes, and comments in general. I just really like the idea of combining fun gameplay with good storytelling. In this case, I especially wanted to combine action, exploration, and mystery solving for an experience that would pay off in the end.

One goal I really wanted to achieve was to make this game feel like you don’t have to belong to a specific demographic to play. Whether you’re a guy or a gal, an online wizard or an online soldier, however you define yourself, this game would let you carve out your own adventure based on your actions. Games are expensive these days, so it’s important to create something that feels like a big experience, but also a personally satisfying one.

On a final note, Sam totally nailed the visually style I would choose for this specific game. I mean, he completely hit the nail on the head! Seeing screenshots of the game, plus the cover of the box, would hopefully give people a good idea of what they were in for when purchasing this game.

Anywho, I just wanted to share my thoughts, and let you know that your comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks again, everybody! :)

I wonder how many female gamers will pick this title up out of impulse and realize that it's not playing virtual Barbie. It would be nice to see a game that isn't so linear and where you choose the ending and the story changes with your actions kinda like the free game Façade (look it up).

Interesting plot-line. I'm visualizing a stylized cell-shaded world. Heavy outlines. A look that walks the line between happy cartoon and a more sinister dark atmosphere.
