The Underground Railroad

I know it's an extremely touchy subject, but this would be a game based on the slave escape route and community of the 1800s. This game would informed by actual events and accounts . Theme and tone would be similar to "Cold Mountain". The game would involve alot of risk assessment. It would be an open world and possibly online multiplayer survival game with an emphasis on stealth, ethical dilemmas, and consequences. Starting on plantations, the enslaved player will have to decide when the best time to escape would be and the method to do so. How you achieve this will determine whether you are immediately pursued and will most likely put others in danger. The player will be faced with situations like : how do you deal with other escaped slaves? Joining them can help you but you might be more easily spotted. If you run across a child, will they let you go or give you away? Do you risk stealing to eat and survive, where can you rest without fear of being caught? Who can you really trust to help you. I hope the game would have a large degree of unpredictability and require patience. I have always been fascinated and horrified by this area of history and think video games have the ability to tell a really immersive version of this story.
