Here is one way to come up with a fun mini-game: 1. Start with a toy... some sort of interactive widget. For example: gravity, a bouncy ball, waves, collision detection, etc. 2. Come up with a cool way to play with it. 3. Adjust speed, or numbers, or intensity to set levels of difficulty. Games of this type tend to be simple, but they can be addictive and fun. Everything from Pong, to Tetris, to Line Rider follow this "toy centered" structure. Another bonus for those interested in getting in the gaming industry is that this type of game is small enough in scope that one person can build it from start to finish. It is a great way to show off your mad skills! Who know? An inventive new "toy" or a unique spin on an old one could be the next big hit!
