A Notion

Japan is famous for it's domination of the Role Playing field, I figure, why can't we take a stab at it, and try one of our own, but create a truely unique gaming experience, and retain beautiful graphics and a fun game play? A game system that creates a unique organization of parties, and a completely different take on the start of a story. Consider how the typical Role Playing game is relatively linear. How about instead of the typical single plot game play, that by answering a few personal preference questions created by the creators of the game, you can take the part of either one of two warring factions, or an outsider being dragged into the war. And whats more, the magic system would be completely customizable. Well, to a degree. There would be a limited ammount of magic, but you could mix certain spell types for different affects, and equip them much like the materia in the Final Fantasy 7 game, though, not the same. Returning to the start of the game, I think it would be far more interesting to give the player a pick from a group of large weapons, each with it's own attributes and such. Want nunchucks? They're fast and have big combo's, but are weak. Want a two handed sword? it's powerful, but slow. It would add a whole lot of customization. And for the final touch. The special attack system. Let's say...that during combat, you earned points. By saving those points, you could create a special attack. But by lvling, you would gain access to new abilites for those special attacks IE: (All enemies on the field, multiple hit, all allies, etc) and the more points you have, the larger, and more beneficial the ability would be. Lets say...you have a bow type weapon. You create an ability that lets you hit an enemy 6 times, for 150% your attack attribute. Though, you can't perform that ability unless you can provide the mana for the ability. Just a few ideas I've been tossing around.
