Alien Infiltrator

Alan Dennis | January 23rd, 2008 4:01pm

This is an idea I came up with while trying to think of a way to make a stealth/infiltration game that could be less linear than most. It's fairly silly, but could be very fun. The player is an alien from a distant planet, sent to gather intelligence for the upcoming invasion. In order to gather this intelligence, the alien must blend into his surroundings and infiltrate the highest levels of the human infrastructure. To do so, the player uses the help of his or her small robot friend that can fly, stealthily of course, through the world, gathering imagery and sounds of various humans, animals, machinery, etc… This data is then used by the player to disguise the alien character, in order to appear and sound innocuous to the humans, while gathering vital intelligence! However, the little robot can only store so much information, so you have to be sure to capture the right look and the right sounds, or else you might be rather conspicuous when you’re trying to infiltrate the Mayor’s office! So send out your robot minion and start recording the human’s speech, record their image and log common surroundings so that you can infiltrate their government and report their weaknesses back to the mothership!! A vital part of this game, however, would be comical interactions with the humans - but don't worry, if your cover is blown, you can always use the knock out shockwave and try something different!
