Shallow Sleep

Japanese rock star HYDE has always had a goth image and even played a ghost and a vampire in 2 different Japanese horror movies.
I would do a Japan-only release of a HYDE game where he’s a vampire and I’d try to figure out a way to incorporate guns and swordplay.
Naturally he would do a rock soundtrack for it.
Since he’s so hot and already looks like an anime character, a video game would be a perfect vehicle for HYDE.

Walmart Fun

WalMart fun would be a free rome game(Most likely free or for download for sevrel dollers or on X-Box Live or Wiiware) You would get to play around in Walmart with guns Grappling hooks and just destroy stuff. The store would be fully stocked and you could also use anything in the store such has toy Light Sabers Frozen Turkeys ect. And you could throw stuff at people and if you didnt get away from Security in time you would be kicked out into the parking lot and have to brake back in again. you could also shoplift and get put into the WAlMart Dungeon(every store has one, Havent you ever been locked in one.) And if you wanted to you could go undercover as an employee and cause mayhem. It would be a fun litle sandbox game(you could also spawn items, people, Police, ect. Similar to Garrys Mod)

What about a game for mom! Mom’s always have to keep a house clean. What about a game where mom does virtual cleaning. It is her job to clean the messes up in a house staying ahead of the kids! If mom wins she gets a spa day! If she loses, well the mess will just pile up.

Bring back the old X-Wing, and other old classics

For pure gameplay no StarWars game has matched the old X-Wing/Tie-Fighter games for DOS. Yes, they had crappy graphics by today’s standards, but there were hundreds of missions, which allowed for 100% freedom in how you accomplish them, and control over your ship unlike anything since.

I don’t know why Lucas Arts or whomever haven’t redone this game yet. Any other flying based Star Wars game since has been severely dumbed down.

A typical theme in hollywood is to mine old movies and remake them, the video game industry is now old enough for us to consider doing that. Fancy graphics are fine, but good gameplay is where the money is (see Wii). So why not start updating old classics, preserving the addicting gameplay, but merely updating the graphics?

Another good example is Wing Commander IV. The one from 1996 that used like 7 CDs and starred Mark Hamill, Malcolm McDowell, and John Rhys Davies. This game had a great story, probably the best acting in a video game at the time or since, and good gameplay. Bring it back with updated graphics, you can keep the original live action cut scenes even.

StarWars Dark Forces was a great FPS, one of the best of it’s time (better than Doom I think), and I think it was an even better FPS than Battlefront is now. Bring it back, add updated graphics, and add a multiplayer component.

The Final Fantasy series is ripe for these changes as well, that series has just gotten weird, but (US releases) FF3 and FF2 had great stories and great gameplay (and FF3 especially had a great musical score). FF7 was pretty good as well (though unfortunately has be milked to death since).

Even games like Gauntlet, as the years progressed new versions got better graphics but worse gameplay and shorter gameplay. The original was the most fun.

One of the funnest arcade games I ever played was that old TMNT 4 player deal. I have 3 brothers and one day at an arcade we beat it and when we stopped we had an audience, what a feeling. Simple graphics, compelling gameplay.

Rather than seeing companies sink money into making new games with great graphics but horrible gameplay, I would ask them to instead remake older games with proven good gameplay.

So take the gameplay of the old X-Wing DOS game, give it modern graphics, and set it up for online multiplayer. Guaranteed blockbuster. Who has George Lucas’s phone number?
